Here at 大象传媒, we often get questions from readers about the work that goes on behind the scenes. So to help pull back the veil, several of our editors went live during 大象传媒 Fest to answer your questions during an 鈥淎sk 大象传媒 Anything鈥� panel.

Moderated by 大象传媒 board member and co-founder Manolia Charlotin, the panel featured 大象传媒鈥檚 Editorial Director Sunnivie Brydum, Senior Editor Chris Winters, Environmental Editor Breanna Draxler, and Racial Justice Editor Sonali Kolhatkar. The questions ranged from the basic 鈥淲hat makes a story a 大象传媒 story?鈥� to the editorial team debates around sensitive subject issues and how to cover them. (鈥淚 want the tea,鈥� Charlotin said.)

Of course, we opened up questions to the audience, who weighed in on what they wanted to know about our coverage of historically excluded communities, how we plan our print issues, what sorts of systems we cover when we talk about systemic problems, and how we can elevate transformative voices above all the background noise in today鈥檚 hyper-politicized media environment.
